Guild Wars 2, Colin Johanson in MMOFTW live stream: recording of the show
In the night from Friday to Saturday Colin Johanson of ArenaNet was in the live stream broadcast of MMOFTW mmorpg.com to visit. A replay of the broadcast is available.
Colin Johanson of ArenaNet was in the show MMOFTW of mmorpg.com a guest and talked about the upcoming news for Guild Wars 2. If you missed the live stream event on the night of Friday to Saturday, can subsequently view the recording.
The topics covered range from the Game Director announced AoE nerf the class balance up to culling problem on WvW cards and large-scale events. So if you looked at the last webcast of ArenaNet and has read the blog post by Colin Johanson will not learn much new.
A theme is of course the announcement for the January patch host function. This may be in the future daily two other worlds to visit with some restrictions. The drawback: The free world transfers are abolished. A transfer to a new homeworld costs in the future gems. And what a reasonable group search function in the game? At one in the gw2 gold game implemented LFG function is working.
Known to get new achievements for which we earn laurels now. First, the daily and monthly results to be adjusted. There are also adjustments for Orr. Where new events are added, mob spawns and waypoints revised. But in general, should be established in already existing areas must be new, and to get new loot for the players to feel like it, to look at everything.
ArenaNet has already announced adjustments to the surface damage (AoE nerf). The AoE damage will be mitigated, at least as regards the impact on individual goals, and but other attacks on specific targets to be improved. Generally, once the classes and arms are scrutinized and adjusted to find the right balance.
Even the so-called culling problem (charging problems, invisible character models) on the WvW cards and are working at big events. Henceforth, the resolution of the character models are scaled down. It does not look pretty, but it is only once an interim solution. Major events such as the Karka event "The Lost Coast" in November found until the problem is cleared up, does not take place. To stay with the WvW: The commander received new orders and new events to occur. Colin Johanson noted that the division into smaller groups is the best tactic. New titles and successes are also planned.
Otherwise, Colin Johanson commented yet on other topics such as news for the guild. For the guilds, there are special issues and successes. What about guild halls? ArenaNet has not forgotten the desire of the player, but not as fast as we can expect with the arrival of guild halls.
You can find further details of the mid-section. In the broadcast not only Guild Wars 2 was an issue, among others, there are also sections on Wildstar and other MMORPGs. The contribution to Guild Wars 2 gold, starting at about the 18th minute Unfortunately, the audio sync is a bit distorted.

A Message About the Infraction System
The infraction system is a simple system. Infractions that do not include points (known as zero-point infractions) serve as friendly reminders to follow the Code of Conduct you agreed to abide by when your account was created. Infractions with points are more serious and start a tally on your account. When that tally reaches a certain threshold of points, a suspension is given. Higher number plateaus result in suspensions of ever-increasing durations, eventually resulting in a permanent ban from the forums. With the exception of banned accounts, infraction points eventually expire.
There are a number of reasons we do not list out every detail about the infraction system we have. The main reason is that such knowledge could be used to manipulate the system. Guild Wars 2 gold players could abuse their fellow players for X amount of posts and then stop to wait until an infraction point on their account expired before they started in again. Using this manner, a person could avoid any real punishment.
The other reason ties into why we don’t allow discussion of moderation on the forums, even when the originating request of such a discussion is a genuine desire for knowledge. Believe it or not, some gw2 gold players would use it as bragging rights. Players would push the system to the edge to ensure they got to behave however they wished without facing any consequences. This simply will not be allowed to happen.
Rest assured though, it takes far more than a single minor infraction to result in a temporary suspension. It takes even more to have your forum privileges permanently revoked!
So how do you avoid getting infractions? It’s pretty simple really. Be sure to review the Code of Conduct and follow those rules. If someone violates those rules, rather than doing the same and getting yourself into trouble, simply report the post or thread in question so the Community team can investigate it.
It really is as simple as that! If you have any questions or concerns about any forum moderation action taken, please send an email to forums@arena.net.(source)
Thanks!

ArenaNet wants more transparency
Game Director Colin Johanson commented on the official forum of the online role-playing game Guild Wars 2 on the plans regarding the game design and transparency.
In Guild Wars 2 ends of these days the Wintersday event and thus leads ArenaNet his players in mind that this is a second time only one event negotiated, which provided for a temporary new content, much like it has with the Halloween update case. Meanwhile stirs among the community of Guild Wars 2, but the interest in more profound changes and so every gw2 gold game director Colin Johanson taken in the forum MMORPGs with no monthly fees and a heart embellished the plans.

Guild Wars 2 Snowflake Exploiters Face Permanent Bans
Guild Wars 2 Santa delivers coal and permanent bans to naughty youngsters who use exploits.
Throughout the holidays, ArenaNet ran a charming modest Christmas event referred to as Wintersday for festively-inclined Guild Wars 2 players. However, one of the items introduced in the event, a high-level snowflake in this case, was bugged. By combining the snowflake with a Black Lion salvage kit and a lot of metal, unscrupulous players might produce limitless globes of ectoplasm, a exceptionally-sought after crafting material.
The exploit was closed almost as soon as it popped up, but not before a slew of decidedly un-festive Guild Wars 2 gold players managed to fill their virtual pockets with ill-gained loot. Those who got caught doing so are now facing a permanent ban.
The usual responses were aired, that it's ArenaNet's responsibility to fix such bugs & that players shouldn't be punished for taking benefit of game mechanics, broken or otherwise, but those claims were shot down by ArenaNet support liaison, Gaile Gray.
"Any time you take 1 thing and can make 2, and then four, and then sixteen... ya gotta know that's just incorrect. (I will not quibble on the odds, yet overall, that form of doubling was not outside the realm of possibility.) And to perform that action hundreds and hundreds of times? That's named 'exploitation,' & that's against the User Agreement, the Rules of Conduct, & all that is holy," she wrote.
"Exploit closed," she added. "Worst offenders terminated. That's what has to take place to make items right for all of us."
